The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is the U.S. regulation requiring companies that manufacture, sale, or distribute defense articles or services, must comply with the regulations as defined in the United States Munitions List (USML). These regulations affect every company in a supply chain that is responsible for assisting in the production and delivery of impacted defense articles or services.
The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) governs the sale, distribution, and production of defense-related goods. The Export Administration Regulations (EAR) govern dual-use items that aren’t covered by the ITAR, but nonetheless apply to some defense-related items.
